Secondary Schools

New developments with the KS3 and KS4 curriculum will expand the potential for creative and innovative cross curricular learning opportunities inspired by St Katherine’s.

A regular programme of sessions for secondary schools will be on offer from September 2010. Topic days and project work designed to enrich the curriculum will be available on specific dates from January 2010. We will be working with teachers and consulting with our Learning Advisory Group to develop exciting and innovative cross curricular learning opportunities.

Religion, music, history, art and design will be the first subjects to be addressed for our standard workshops. For example, exploring the role and everyday life of St Katherine’s priory in the community during the medieval period and contrasting it with the role of church and community today. The art and craftsmanship in St Katherine’s is a valuable resource which will be explored for learning and inspiration.

Future developments will include developing interactive projects which encourage pupils which investigate and develop business skills in relation to tourism and heritage markets.

Promotional visits for teachers will take place prior to St Katherine’s opening in late 2009 and after opening. For further information and details, please visit our events page.
