Families

St Katherine's will welcome families and groups and values the contribution we can make to children's and families' leisure and learning.

We plan to offer a wide range of exciting events and resources for families. The displays in St Katherine’s will be interactive and include opportunities for learning through play, for example, dressing up, artistic activities and playing Victorian games.

Every school holiday and on some weekends, families will be able to explore the history and heritage of St Katherine's through drama, storytelling, music, art workshops, creative activities, historic craft demonstrations and much more.

For example, one day you may meet a Victorian street seller displaying his wares, listen to the intriguing story of St Katherine, learn a medieval dance, or how to make a scented pomander to ward off evil smells. Alternatively, you could pick up a worksheet, or family trail to guide you round the displays and explore St Katherine's through your imagination and creativity.

During the restoration of St Katherine's, a limited range of holiday and family events will take place in the adjacent community centre. Check out our events programme for details.
