The Future

This famous and unique organ is a part of our national heritage with over two hundred years of history. The date and period of the organ makes it appropriate for St Katherine’s and it may well have been played by members of the Wesleyan family. Great recitalists from home and abroad have played this instrument. It is expected that recitalists from Britain and abroad will attracted to perform and record on the Lincoln Grand Organ at St Katherine’s.


The organ will be restored to the highest standard using modern materials and techniques. The mobile console will ensure that the organ can be used for a variety of purposes. It is anticipated it will be used for recitals, teaching, recording and broadcasting, services, examinations and practice by organ scholars.


This magnificent instrument will have a glorious future in its’ new home. Visitors to St Katherine’s will be able to hear and enjoy a unique sound made by Victorian craftsmen using the finest materials.
